Fraud Alert – Investment scams impersonating Barclays

It has come to our attention that fraudsters are impersonating Barclays and are targeting individuals with investment scams through social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Please be aware that:
•           Neither Barclays nor any affiliated parties will provide investment opportunities or other transactions via WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram or similar messaging channels and platforms
•           Barclays will not contact you with regards to an investment opportunity if you don’t already have an existing relationship with Barclays
•           If you are an existing client and you are contacted with an investment opportunity, please contact your Relationship Manager or call the number on the back of your card to validate the communication

If you think you have fallen victim to this fraud please contact us on the number above, report the case to the police immediately and seek assistance from local authorities.

If you receive an email, material or text that claims to be from Barclays but looks suspicious - even it contains factually correct information in part based on publicly available sources, please forward it along with any attachments to internetsecurity@barclays.com.
