Barclays colleagues in Mumbai partnered with Samarthanam, a non-government organisation that supports people with disabilities, to help mentees develop the skills and confidence needed to pursue new employment opportunities. 

The team mentored 30  participants, providing CV guidance and teaching transferable workplace skills, helping them build confidence and prepare for their next step. Several mentees have already secured roles across different organisations, including one participant who has since joined Barclays in Mumbai.

The team's efforts have also been recognised internally, winning ‘Citizenship Achievement of the Year – Asia Pacific and Middle East’ at the Barclays Citizenship, Inclusion & Opportunity Awards 2026. 

The programme continues to grow, with plans to support more mentees and expand opportunities for future cohorts.
