Lauren Samuel, who works in Regulatory Change in Global Markets, based in New York, has dedicated over 20 years to supporting The HOPE Program, a non-profit and Barclays LifeSkills partner that empowers underemployed New Yorkers through comprehensive training and lifelong career support.
Lauren began her journey as a volunteer and mentor, and in 2020, stepped into the role of Board Chair.
Under Lauren’s leadership, HOPE has expanded its reach and impact, growing its income by 300% and navigating significant organisational change. She has helped shape the strategic direction of the organisation and has become a passionate advocate for The HOPE Program within Barclays, inspiring colleagues to volunteer and engage with its mission.
In recognition of her invaluable contribution, Lauren was awarded ‘Citizenship Achievement of the Year – Americas’ at the Barclays 2025 Citizenship, Inclusion and Opportunity Awards in 2025.
